Debating

Thinking of keeping the girls blog private. I think it kind of creeps me out not knowing who views this blog since it's a free for all. On the settings it lets me know who read this and what post they read. I have a lot of people reading that I don't know or people who I have no idea how they even know i have a blog. The intent for this blog was to keep something special for my girls. Not to sure I like the thought of everybody reading it. If your reading then comment on the post so I know who is reading and can save those people and block out others. The Internet world is creepy. I think maybe this should just be a blog for my girls too read one day. I don't know. Definitely debating.

Check-ups

Those of you who know me, know I am not a fan of vaccinations. You know that I have worked in the field of Autism for so long that I have a strong point of view on vaccinations. I hate them. I know they are needed but I hate them. My girls have always been on an alternate vaccination schedule.

Many parents I have worked with have speculated that vaccines over loaded their child's system when their immune system was low and contributed to their autism diagnosis. I held off on the MMR shot until Syniah was 3 years of  age. I am a strong believer of this  "We take into account that some children have reactions to medicines like penicillin, for example, yet when it comes to vaccines we are operating as if our kids have a universal tolerance for them. We are acting like ONE SIZE FITS ALL. That is, at the very least, a huge improbability. Even if the CDC is not convinced of a link between vaccines and autism, changing the vaccine schedule should be seriously considered as a precautionary measure." I think so many people have their different opinions but this is what works for my girls. I am not against all vaccines, but 'I do believe there is strong evidence to suggest that some of the ingredients may be hazardous and that our children are being given too many, too soon!' I quote Jenny McCarthy who is an Autism activist and experienced first hand what the harm that vaccines caused her child. I this it's better to be safe than sorry.

Today the girls went in for their  full physicals.

 Niah took a vision test 

PASSED....THANK GOD! (So far has Mama's vision)

Syniah weighed 31lbs 50 percentile for weight and 75 percentile in height (We may have a tall and skinny girl.)

Leilah weighed in at 25lbs. 50 percentile for both height and weight.  (Leilah is petite. Short for her age)

They were so excited to see the doctor.

 As always we have the doctor trying to catch them up on all their vaccines. 7 or 8 shots? ummmmmmmmmm no! So both girls got two shots. Niah got the MMR today. I was up in the air about it but she is 3 and developing perfectly so I felt it was time. My heart doesn't feel completely at peace with her getting that shot. The one shot  parents that I worked for warned me about since before I was even a Mom. I really just have to leave it in God's hands that from here he will protect her.


 The girls did great. Niah had a few tears but was such a big girl. Leilah cried for a second and then started laughing I think she was confused as how to feel. My big girls. So proud of their visit. I thank God for giving me such healthy and happy girls.

Their eyes

The first time I held each of my girls the first thing I noticed was their eyes. Huge eyes! Niah and Leilah would look like identical twins if it weren't for their eyes. They are both huge but Niah's are huge and round and Leilah's are huge and almond shaped. It's the first thing people notice about them when we are out. 

"She has such big eyes."  "What beautiful eyes she has." "Wow, look at her eyes."

They are beautiful eyes aren't they?

These  beautiful eyes are also the eyes that can give the dirtiest looks. Niah is starting to roll her eyes and Leilah doesn't have to say a word when she is mad.......her eyes speak millions. Wonder if I will be in love with these eyes in their teenage years?

German Baby number 5 will be here in a few weeks so we are trying to get in as much time together as possible. Tanya and I thought what better way than our favorite spot as kids.

Niah is such a big girl now. She made her very own smores all by herself.

Such a great day and evening. I absolutely thank God every time I think of Tanya. I couldn't ask for a better family to raise my kids around, a Best friend to share these moments with and Nina to love my girls. I hope baby German #5 doesn't mind all the chaos when the Mendez and German kids get together I am sure he/she will fit right in.
