A Saturday with our Nana

We loaded the car and took off. Off to Oak Glen Apple Orchards. A fun day of play, animals, dirt, and yummy sweets.

We had so much fun!
I grew up coming here with my Mom and brother's and my Mom loves to bring her grand kids here now. This random little trip was very special.

At first I thought Leilah wouldn't get near the animals but I was wrong. She had so much fun and was so excited.

The kids had to run away from the animals because they were chewing on their clothes.

In no time Leilah was comfortable and petting all the animals.

This was her first real experience around farm animals and not being scared. It was so cute to watch her.

The highlight of our day was the goat who wouldn't leave Leilah alone and was determined to eat her clothes :)

Syniah has always been an animal lover, She was definitely in her element.

I really do think she may work with animals when she grows up. I hadn't brought Niah here since she was 8 months old so it was so sweet to watch her as a big girl.

After Leilah's encounter with the goat she was a little traumatized and kept running back to Nana. "Goat eat my shirt Nana."

Niah and Austin had a blast. They were totally independent.

They all love our Nana

Niah and her sidekick, Her Nana

Leilah found a water well and made lots of wishes.

Off with Nana to see more animals.

The kids were able to get out all their wiggles

Niah make her wishes

Thank you Nana for loving us the way you do. For showing us your unconditional love daily. We really don't know what we would do without you. You make these girls face light up when you walk in a room and you make them cry whenever it's time to say goodbye. I think they love you more than me sometimes :) it's okay...  I wouldn't have it any other way. Thank you for all you do and all the fun they have when they are with you. They love their crazy Nana!

Sweet Moments

Don't let these 2 fool you. They aren't always cuddly like they appear in most pictures. They fight, hit, pull hair, and can scream! At least once a day I do catch them in some sort of sweet moment.
This is today's.............

I caught Niah "reading to Leilah." This book doesn't have many pictures but she was making up her own story. it was so cute.

Then they saw me hiding snapping pictures of them and decided to be silly....

Then decided to be sweet and cuddly

These are melt your heart kind of moments.

These two are my world

The best thing I have ever done was have these girls so close in age. They are Best friends and they are the Sisters I never had. I really do live through them. I never had a Sister but their relationship is the relationship I could have only dreamed of. I am so blessed by them.
These moments don't always occur but when they do I am so glad I get to capture them.

Makeup monster!

Never leave your purse in plain sight!

Leilah was super mad when she got caught. Even more mad when I tried to wash her face. Let me tell you........Mascara is not easy to wash off!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

When I was pregnant with Syniah one of my biggest support systems were the teachers I worked along side for so many years a TMA. They really took me under their wing and I will be forever thankful for them. I received special little gifts throughout my pregnancy and even when I returned to work after Niah was born. One gift I hold near and dear to my heart is Niah's very first book.  Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. Mrs. Shenton gave it to her because Mrs. Shenton's maiden last name is Fox and that book had special meaning behind it for her so she gave one to Niah. I read that book to Niah in the hospital when she had Pneumonia at 5 months old, Niah took that book with her to Dr. Seuss night at KinderCare when she was just 8 months old, now Syniah gets to skim through the pages and ask questions about what the words say. I look forward to the day when she gets to read that book. It's a tongue twister but I know in no time it will be a piece of cake for her to read. It's funny how certain gifts can be so special and you can look at it and remember not only receiving it but all the memories it has brought along the way. Today is Dr. Seuss birthday and even though Niah is still too young to grasp the fact that we are celebrating the birthday of a man we don't even know personally, we still took the time out of our day to talk about "Read Across America" but to read this special book. I want her to grow up knowing that sometimes even the smallest gifts are the ones that will mean the most and Mrs. Shenton gave her the gift of reading.
Thank You Mrs. Shenton for sharing your love of reading with my Syniah Grace. Thank you for always loving us and showing us your support. Your sweet heart and loving spirit I will forever cherish..

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

Not our day

Today was one of those days where I wouldn't mind erasing. Syniah was really emotional and super cranky. She decided that today she would not listen even if her life depended on it. Leilah was her usual self super clingy and babyish. Ervin and I decided that Leilah really is only 1 years old. There is no way she can be 2 and act so baby like. Ugh! Today just wasn't our day. There was way too much crying, tantrums, and timeouts. I hope tomorrow is better. I pray tomorrow is better. I really don't know what I would do if tomorrow repeated itself. Ugh! Really bad day. I really needed to put myself on timeout. That would never happen....I would have a kid pounding on the door crying for me to get out. I need to invest is some reason high quality ear plugs...........
