My Korey

My Korey.............
From the day I became his Aunt I literately fell in love with him. He was my bald, chunky, white baby. He was such a happy baby and so lovable. What I loved most about him was that he was absolutely crazy about me. He was my nephew and I couldn't be a more prouder Auntie. I remember when I was going away to college and the only reason why I was sad was because I wouldn't be able to see Korey everyday. I still managed to see him as much as I could and he even spent the night in my dorm room a few times. I take my role as an Auntie very seriously. I think to be an Aunt is just as special as being a Mom. It's the kids you get to spoil and love with all your heart and they love you back just the same. The ones that get to spend the night at your house and you feed them junk food and watch movies till midnight. The ones that give you that unconditional love because you are their Aunt.  I hope that is something that not only Korey but the rest of my nieces and nephews take with them throughout their life. That they always know how much I love. That they always refer to me as the COOL Aunt. I have always kept my relationship the same with them despite having kids of my own and that is something I feared but it is something that has never changed. I am their Aunt. I have two important roles in my life and that is to be a Great Aunt and the Best Mom I can be.

I have a different relationship with each of my Nieces and Nephews and I think my relationship with Korey is extra special. He was my very first baby. The one I missed school for or the one I would ditch my friends for. He is such a sweet boy. The most lovable boy I have ever met. He is almost as tall as me but will still come sit on my lap and hug and cuddle me. I wonder if he will ever stop doing that? I love this kid. I am so proud to be his Aunt. He moved to Colorado a few years ago with his Mom and we get him once a year for the entire Summer, but that summer just isn't enough. I wish he lived closer. I think we are always incomplete without him and I know he is incomplete without us.

Korey never get s a birthday with us because his birthday is in October so we decided to throw him a little party  before he flew back home. This was the first time my Mom has ever had all her grand-kids together. It was such a nice time and these kids love each other so much. I wish we got to do this more often but our Korn-dog (my nickname for him) is just so far. We made the most of our time together. I think it was a success cause he didn't stop smiling.

He got presents.

Leilah tried to keep up with her cousins by attempting to ride a scooter

Good thing she has such a good big cousin. Brayleen was patient.

The cousins sang Happy Birthday

They laughed!

and he smiled.

Happy Birthday my handsome boy.
Niah and Brayleen

These girls love eachother

It isn't a party without cake and Auntie Sandra always makes sure he baby Leilah gets her cake!

She ate two pieces!

ALL THE COUSINS.
This picture captures them in the best way possible.
My Mom wanted a picture of them all together and this is as good as it gets. It's so real and that's why I love it. The babies wouldn't participate for anything in this world!

Double Trouble

These girls are crazy!! They really are two of a kind. Lately they have kept me on my toes. I catch them doing the craziest things. I drink more coffee than ever because I can't fall asleep or even blink too much because they are getting themselves into some kind of trouble. Makes me think what their teenage years will be likes. Locks on their windows for sure! :)

This evening they were being so crazy I brought out my camera and said "lets take pictures!"

These are the poses Niah came up with..................

Check out Leilah's new smile

This picture really speaks for itself. They are best friends. It's amazing to watch.

She couldn't stop laughing at Niah

"Mama, Mama, Mama,.............Cheese......!!"

Cheese......................

She is getting so big.

Love these toes..........

They really are crazy, but I love them!

Isn't it crazy how they look exactly alike in this picture. Blows me away how I had two girls 19 months apart but are twins :)

A very tired baby

Look beyond her ridiculously dirty feet! and what do we have??

A very tired baby....

I was doing laundry and thought Leilah was playing. Then I realized she was being really quiet. I guess playing with her shopping cart under the table was way too tiring.

She is getting big

Syniah is really growing before our eyes. She is totally losing her baby face and it makes me sad. It is so weird because I can remember the day she was born as if it were yesterday but it has been three years. Three years and 3 1/2 months ago we welcomed this precious girl into the world. Time flies. I will never get back those newborn days but I just hope to never forget them. She will be starting preschool soon. I know she is beyond ready to go but it's still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that she is even old enough for school.

We are blessed with a daughter so loving and smart. She has a great personality. People we meet always fall in love with her. Anywhere she goes she meets a friend or we get compliments on how cute she is. I just pray I never forget these days. I just pray that even though her face is changing and she is growing taller that I never forget the baby I held in the hospital. My first baby. My Syniah Grace.

It's so hard to get this girl to take a picture!

She rather joke around and get in a basket.

Eventually, once her hair was combed. she was ready for the camera.

Isn't she beautiful?

PONIES.........

I Think pony tails instantly make you grow up. When you have enough hair to have a big girl do, then your a BIG GIRL. My Leilah Faith became a big girl today.... It wasn't easy......she hates her hair touched, but I put her in front of the T.V. and gave her a snack. She forgot all about her hair but then got mad at me when she realized she had rubber bands in her hair and went in her basket. Thinking maybe if she hides in there she can prove to me that she is really mad. I thought it was cute. :)

She doesn't have a lot of hair. Her hair is so thin and there are only two long strands but it makes ponies and that's all that matters.

Side view

She kept walking away from me. She was so upset so she  grabbed her Blankie then turned around and threw herself on the floor.

"Take these ponies off of me!"

I tried to distract her so it was time to brush her teeth.

Brush, Brush, Brush, Leilah Faith. Doesn't she look like a big girl?

Twins?

Leilah is starting to look almost identical to Niah at her age.

"Mom I guess these ponies will do for today"
