Random Disneyland trip

"Lets go to Disneyland I will pick you up in 30 minutes."

My Mom has always been one to get in the car and take a road trip or be random and just drive. I definitely get that from her. I love being spontaneous and going fun places when it isn't  planned. I hope my girls inherit that because it makes life a bit more enjoyable.
So when she called me and told me she wanted to go to Disneyland at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon it wasn't a suprise for her to be so random but I knew she didn't have a Disneyland ticket so I knew that meant she would get a pass which made me super excited. The girls were beyond excited.  We rushed to get ready and spent the rest of the day at Disneyland. Such a fun evening. I am just suprised Nana lasted till the park closed considering she was up for work at 4:00am that morning. We had so much fun and rode lots of rides. I had two very happy little girls. Syniah is already plotting her next trip "Just me and Nana."  Ummmmm.... Does that mean Leilah and I aren't invited?

Muffins with Mom

This morning I attended Muffins with Mom at Syniah's school. We ate teeny tiny muffins and drank orange juice. She was able to give me her Mother's Day gift and a card that she made. As she was reading her card my eyes started to water. I am an emotional Mama so it is pretty normal for me but it really did warm my heart. She was so proud to let all her friends know that I am her Mama. I watched other Mother's come in their business attire and rush their daughter's  telling them they needed to hurry and eat or hurry and read their card's. I didn't come in an fancy clothing nor did I have anywhere else to be and I sat and thanked God for that. I was reminded of the sacrifice I am making to be home. I don't get to feel important waking up every morning going to this big money making job but I do know what it is like to have that job and be that Mom who rushes my kid because I am too busy. For now I am sacrificing my value in the workforce because my value at home is greater. This stay at home Mom job isn't forever so I am soaking it all in. I was so thankful to be there with Syniah and talk to her with all the time in the world. Moments like that are definitely something money can't buy. We even went to have crepes after since Syniah claimed that muffins were only a snack. My girl and had a such a great Mama, Daughter morning. I guess I have to enjoy all these moments because I hear that Moms are only cool until elementary school.  Lets pray Niah always thinks I am cool :)

Would you like to buy some chocolates?

Today the girls went door to door trying to sell Niah's chocolates. Cinderella was having a bad hair day but that didn't stop her from joining Niah. They went to about 15 homes and only sold chocolates to two people. Some people slammed their doors on my girls or were super rude to them. Who can be mean to a 3 year old Cinderella and a 5 year old softball player? As their mama bear I wanted to say something to the ones who decided to be rude to my girls but I was expecting some of that so I had them say "thank you anyways" and move on.  They weren't very successful. Probably because they were selling at noon and most people aren't home so we took a drive to Nana's work and had the girls go in and try to sell chocolates there......within 20 minutes they had all 60 bars sold with an extra $4!!  Thank you Nana.
Makes me see kids selling candy in front of Target totally different now. I better have dollars in my purse at all times. I think it would break my heart and make me think of my girls faces if I ever said no to another kid selling chocolates. Good thing I don't like sweets or I would be in trouble.

Aren't they cute? Doesn't it make you want to buy a chocolate?

Happy 5th Birthday Syniah Grace

Syniah Grace,
I don't think I really knew how much my life would change when I found out I was gonna be a Mama but 5 years ago today at 10:11am on April 13, 2008 my life was forever changed. I became a Mama to my beautiful Syniah Grace. Syniah you have given me 5 of the greatest years of my life and I am so lucky you chose me to be your Mama. Everyday you make me proud of who you are and excited for who you will become. You embrace the world and I love that you love with your whole heart. I love you Syniah Grace. I love that you are my Daughter but most of all I love that 5 years ago you made my dream come true. Happy 5th birthday my toothless softball player. Mama loves you more than you'll ever know.

Open house

Syniah had her first open house tonight. She was so excited to show us everything that she has made. It was really eye opening for Ervin and I. Open house? Isn't that for old people? Wasn't our daughter just born? All the parents did look older than us. They walked in the classroom with their teenage children and their preschoolers and look at Ervin and I as if we come from the show Teen Mom. Definitely weird but we are 30 and we do have a kid going into kindergarten as crazy as that may seam and a 3 year old who slept like a newborn in Ervin's arms the entire time. Our girls are growing up and tonight that really set in.

We are so proud of Syniah and all her hard work. She walked around with a huge smile on her face. I really love that kid. I even love how she spells her name with an upside down "H" at the end. She is something special. We were proud parents tonight.
